Adjudicator - Gabriella Swallow, the distinguished cellist and BBC Radio and television presenter
We have chosen the name 'Eisteddfod'
because anyone who has attended an Eisteddfod will have been struck by the fun atmosphere and enjoyment of performing, while taking part in a competition.
This is what our festival is all about.
The Eisteddfod caters for every age group and standard, and takes the form of a series of concerts in front of a friendly audience and an experienced adjudicator who will sum up what has been heard and to pick the winners! Everyone will go away with their written adjudication, and, we hope, with a spring in their step, inspired to aim for greater heights.
The Recital and Concerto Classes
incorporate the very popular Musicale Young Artists' Competition, and entries are invited from anywhere in the country. The winner of the Open Recital Class will have the opportunity to perform in the Harpenden Summer Music Festival, while the winner of the Open Concerto Class will have a free (non residential) place in the Musicale Young Artists' Summer Course. An outstanding concerto class winner may have the possibility of performing a concerto with the Musicale Young Artists' Symphony Orchestra.
